What Sets FC Buffalo Apart? Our DNA...

CULTURE

We align with the USL Academy philosophy of “Development First”. We don’t aim to be the biggest, we want to provide the highest quality program and environment that has a keen focus on HOLISTIC DEVELOPMENT for our players and our Club partners with a Pathway to Pro.

1

COLLABORATION

As an organization, we value Collaboration as critical. We have, and will continue to partner with local clubs and leagues to help strengthen and increase their capacity to serve their community and grow the game of soccer within WNY. We believe in and support travel soccer, the Olympic Development Program, and US Youth Futsal ID Program and encourage our players to participate.

2

COMPETITION

We will expose our players to a variety of competition locally, regionally, nationally and internationally through events, leagues and friendlies – providing a vast expanse of opportunities to grow as people and players, and receive exposure. We are PROGRAM, not platform, driven.

3

COST

Our long-term aim is to be a self-sustaining FREE-to-PLAY Academy, but understand that will take time. For the near term, we are diligently and creatively working to MINIMIZE COSTS for Players and Families, eliminating a barrier to entry by providing a complete player development program for one cost.

#FOROURCITY

Buffalo has a rich soccer history, and for the past 14 years, FC Buffalo has been privileged to be a part of that history. As we look forward, we honor the past. The foundation of soccer in Buffalo was laid in the late 1800’s and stands strong today because of community and pro teams such as: Star FC, Buffalo Thistle, Niagara Wanderers, Buffalo Nomads, Germania Hispano Soccer Club, Buffalo Becks, White Eagles, Buffalo Soccer Club, Club Italia, Buffalo Storm, Buffalo Blazers, Buffalo Stallions, Buffalo Blizzard and many other Clubs that have competed in the US Open Cup, international friendlies and semi-pro and professional leagues.

We THRIVE TOGETHER.

FCB has put Community first, and will continue to do so. For our Players to grow and develop, and for the game to grow and develop in WNY, we need to nourish the community as a whole. We are furthering this investment and initiative by supporting the community and travel based youth clubs, with the creation of Coaching Education and Referee Training opportunities.

We FOSTER GROWTH.

Development is a marathon, not a sprint. We are charting a path-to-pro both for our Players and our Club through the support of the USL Academy structure. We embrace this challenge - ease is a greater threat to progress than hardships; we love the grind and are comfortable being uncomfortable. We are poised for growth and development in key areas. We are providing a rich training environment for our players to grow as people. That environment includes future involvement in the U19 USL Academy League and the USL Academy Cup (U13/U15/U19).

We are SERVANT LEADERS.

Our Club is based on a distinct team and player CULTURE centered on clearly communicated values and beliefs. We have a HOLISTIC approach to Player and Personal Development, which includes our Coaches and Parents. This approach involves consistent feedback from our staff that addresses the individual needs of the Player. By upholding our standards and maintaining open communication we will provide each individual with the fundamental tools necessary to maximize their abilities and empower them to become leaders that help other people, teammates, peers, and colleagues develop and perform as highly as possible.
